Subject- Verb Agreement

English Grammar plays very important role to learn English. There are some topics in English grammar which create a lot of confusion. Subject Verb Agreement is one of those topics but practice makes a man perfect. It is very important to know about all the rules related to Subject Verb Agreement to get success in competitive exams.

I have observed many people get confused about English Grammar rules.They find themseves unable to find out grammatical mistakes like
He as well as I am going to school. 🤨
Or
He as well as I is going to school. 🤔

Here I'll continue with Subject -Verb Agreement Rules Part - 2. In this part, I will share very important English grammar rules for you all. These Subject-Verb Agreement rules will help you get success in all competitive exams like bank PO, Bank Clerical, SSC,PGT,TGT or even board exams etc ,where you do grammatical mistakes because of a lot of confusion.

Let's continue with more rules.
1. When
singular and plural subjects are connected by either-or/ neither- nor,
plural subject is used later and verb will also be in plural.

Either the teacher or his students are in
the class room.
•
Neither
the captain nor
the players are performing well.
2. If
subjects with different persons are joined by or, nor,
either-or, neither-nor, verb is used according to the closest
subject.

Neither
you nor your brother
has got admission.
•
My
boss or I am to
finish this project fast.
3. If
conditional sentence is in future then first part of the sentence will be in present
indefinite and second part (principal clause) will be in future indefinite.

If
you work hard, you will get good marks.
•
If
it rains, I will not come tomorrow.
4. Nouns
connected by with, together with, and as well as, take the verb according to
the former noun.

• He, as well as I is going to the market.
• The parents, as well as their child are very sincere.
• The teacher, with her students, is sitting quietly.
5. When

plural subject is used later and verb will also be in plural.
